LenSx® Cataract Surgery
What is the LenSx® laser?
The LenSx® laser is an advanced, precision based technology that operates with unmatched precisions and computer-control, helping surgeons to customize the procedure to your eye. It is a technologically advanced option for cataract patients. When you choose the LenSx® laser, you’ll enjoy a range of vital benefits. A custom tailored solution for your eyes. While all human eyes share the same basic anatomical structure, every eye is just a bit different in terms of size, depth, curvature of the cornea and other key features. Which is why every eye must be carefully measured and mapped prior to cataract surgery.
The LenSx® laser uses a range of highly advanced technologies – including integrated optical coherence tomography (OCT) – to capture incredibly precise, high-resolution images of your eyes. These images – and the measurements and data they provide – are then used to plan and perform a surgery to exacting specifications not attainable with traditional surgery. LenSx allows the surgeon to make all laser incisions. No blades are used. The LenSx® laser performs several of the most critical steps of the surgical process with an image-guided femtosecond laser.
ORA Cataract Surgery
ORA guides the use of Advanced Technology Lenses by allowing your cataract surgeon to ensure the lens is perfectly selected and placed which helps give patients a better visual outcome. During the procedure your surgeon can take measurements of your eye allowing adjustments to be made to optimize visual outcomes.
Premium Cataract Lens Implants
There are various types of artificial lens implants including advanced technology lenses such as Restor® Multifocal Implant Lens and Toric Astigmatism Correcting Lenses. The crystalline lens is usually clear at birth, allowing light to pass through it for sharp vision. With age, the lens loses its transparency, becoming cloudy and interfering with various aspects of vision. At this stage it is considered a cataract.

Multifocal Intraocular Lenses
In the past, cataract lenses were only able to correct distance vision, often leaving patients with the need for reading glasses. Multifocal IOLs offer patients freedom from glasses after cataract surgery by improving vision at all distances and at any time of day. These lenses can quickly change focus to accommodate your vision needs. Up to 80 percent of patients do not need to rely on glasses with multifocal IOLs.
Toric Intraocular Lenses
Toric IOLs are specifically designed for patients with astigmatism. In the past, patients with astigmatism would need eyeglasses or contact lenses even after cataract surgery in order to correct the problem. Toric IOLs such as AcrySof Toric corrects cataracts and astigmatism with just one lens, providing a more convenient and affordable solution to your vision needs.
AcrySof ReSTOR® Intraocular Lens
The AcrySof ReSTOR® Intraocular Lens replaces the natural lens after cataract surgery. It has a patented optic design using apodization, diffraction and refraction technologies. The apodized diffractive optic design gives it the ability to focus light correctly on the retina for images at near and far distances without mechanical movement of the lens. The AcrySof ReSTOR® Intraocular Lens has been shown in a clinical study to provide good near and distance vision with increased independence from glasses.
